- Initial steps for institutionalizing graduate courses in administration in the country.
- CLaunch of the Master of Public Administration course in the Country. .
- Pioneering initiative in adopting the credit-based system instead of the yearly curriculum.
- EBAPE, with its present structure is established: Education-Research-Technical Consultancy.
- Editorial program sponsored by the Ford Foundation, resulting in an unprecedented number of books and papers on public administration.

- Broadening of the scope of external relations; both in Brazil and abroad.
- Consolidation of the Master's course, with the inclusion of public policy.
- Increase in the scope of lato sensu graduate courses and several programs of managerial training.
- Installation of EBAPE activities in the head offices of FGV in Brasília, marking the beginning of a more intensive presence of the Foundation in that city.
- Participation as a founder member of the National Association of Graduate Programs in Public Administration.
